Struggling with Body Image and Food Choices

It’s not uncommon to hear people talk about feeling guilty or ashamed about what they eat or how they look, and this negative self-talk can be like an inner bully that holds them back from reaching their goals.

Nourishing Our Bodies In A Sustainable Way

One of the things I always remind my clients is that our bodies are amazing machines that need fuel to function properly. It’s important to nourish ourselves with a variety of foods that provide the nutrients we need to stay healthy and energized. But it’s also important to recognize that there’s no such thing as a perfect diet, and what works for one person may not work for another.

In fact, my doctor once told me that the best diet is the one you can sustain. This means finding a way of eating that feels good to you and fits into your lifestyle rather than trying to adhere to a strict set of rules or fad diets that may not be sustainable in the long run.

Accepting Ourselves as We Are

It’s also important to remember that our bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and there’s no one “ideal” body type. Instead of focusing on trying to change our bodies to fit a certain mold, we can learn to love and appreciate ourselves as we are. This doesn’t mean we can’t strive to be healthier or make changes to our eating habits, but it does mean we can do so from a place of self-love and acceptance rather than self-hatred or shame.
